Graduated from the art school of Liaoning Education Institute majoring in oil painting
Joined the oil painting studio of the art school at Tsinghua University as a visiting scholar whilst studying a PHD course of “creating an art language for oil painting”

Many works of Xu Zhi Gang have been exhibited at China’s Art Exhibition, Shanghai Art Fair and at the Beijing Art Exhibition. His works have also been selected by national and international art organisations and published in specialised art magazines and journals, including《China Fine Art》、《Fine Art Grand Sight》and 《Art》. In 2007, his works were selected and edited into 《10 Famous China’s Contemporary Oil Painting Artists – Xu Zhi Gang 》 and 《Case Study on 21st Century China’s Artists – Xu Zhi Gang 》by Beijing Art & Craft Fine Art Publishing House.
