2017 “欢乐时刻” Cheon Yugyueon 专访 | Interview with Cheon Yugyueon
1. 您作品中的所有的人物角色表情令人印象深刻。他们看上去很安静，但有一点孤独和悲伤，为什么？您在实际生活中有同样的感受吗?
The expressions of all the characters from your paintings are impressive. They look calm but a little lonely and sad, why ? Do you feel the same in your real life ?
我的作品的主题为“填补”。当我在创作每张作品时，我试图去表达我的内心情感以及我对将来和希望的切身感受。我认为现代人可能对他们的将来、工作、爱情和其他一些事情有着与我相似的感受。
My works are based on the theme ” To fill”. WhenＩam working on each piece, I try to express my inner emotions towards what I feel about the future and the hope. I guess that is what the modern people ususally feel towards their future, job, love,and various matters.
2. 您对于当今社会和现代人的生活有何看法？
What’s your opinions towards this modern world and modern people’s normal life ?
如今, 很多人由于政治和社会问题感觉到前所未有的麻木。作为社会中的一员，我也想从我的作品中来表达我个人的情感，并反映出大多数 人内心深处的想法。我认为每个人可以从“希望”这个词中获得生活的力量和勇气。
Nowadays, a lot of people may feel unconcious than ever before, due to the political issue and current society. Being one of this society member，I also want to express my inner emotions from my works which reflects the deep inside of the majority people’s minds. I believe everyone will gain energy or strength by the word ” HOPE” in our life.
3. 您认为当今社会的人们感到越来越孤独的主要原因是什么？
What’s the main cause of being lonely from today’s society from your point of view?
如今的韩国社会处处充满着竞争。人们需要工作并需要自己解决很多问题。(趋向于一个越来越独立的社会)。我认为这是人们感到孤独的主要原因。人们已经开始有了工作和生存经验了。有一句古话“生活是孤独的”。我并不喜欢这种说法，但有时我的确有同感。这种在我的作品中，也反映出了这种感觉。
In today’s society of Korea, there are always many competitions, people need to work and solve the problems by themselves from work. (It tends to be more independent community). I think this is the main cause of being lonely from today’s society, because people already started to have experience with working and surviving. There is an adage ‘Life is being alone.’ I do not like this adage but i do feel it’s true sometimes. This kind of feeling is reflected in my works as well.
4. 您想通过作品带给大众怎样的一种思考？
What kind of reflection would you like to bring to the public ?
在当今社会中，很多人的生活是艰难的，没有了以往的那种安逸。因此，我想通过我的作品和大家分享并给予安慰。
In today’s society, there are less comfort, many people lives in tough life. Therefore, I want to share the comfort with the viewers through my works.
5. 您下一步创作计划是什么？
What’s your next step for your art creation ?
我正在准备2月份的个展。这个展览的主题是“去等待，去期待”。我想表达人们各种内在的情感以及与他人的关系。此外，我还想表达人们是如何感觉和去思考他们的日常生活，以及他们在自己生存的小范围里中人与人之间的关系。
I’m preparing my solo exhibition in February. This exhibition will contain the theme of ” To wait, To expect”. I want to express various inner emotions through people’s relationship with others. Furthermore, I want to deliver the message of how people feel and think towards their daily routines and their relationships with various people in their own spaces.
